My kids book

 My Literacy class has been working on making children's books they must have a protagonist and an antagonist my book is going to be on two bunnies one is a bully and one is a nerd the nerd feels bad for they bully because he's always sad so he makes a play to be friends with him.

we have been using the cat in the hat book as something to use as an example the cat being the antagonist and the fish being the protaganost.

we have been learning about rockets and we had to make a video 

My ISS Module

Kia ora Bloggers over this week we have been learning about the ISS International space station and how and it works and the modules that are attached we got to go into Minecraft education edition and got to design our own module 

My module was about plants and researching how they grow and if they can grow all the way up in space and I also put in research stands so you can study the plants and how they grow

Paper planes

 We have been learning about aerodynamics and last week we tested them by using paper planes I tested the distance of planes with flaps and planes that didn't have flaps here's my discussion if you would like to read and see my results 

In testing the main question is, with different flaps on a paper plane, will it make the plane go further or shorter if it makes any difference on where the plane goes so if it goes sideways or straight down or if there are no changes whatsoever.

also the slide and where the planes tip ended was where the results were recorded from they were not recorded from when they first hit the ground.

Let's start with the first plane, the plane with no flaps. It did exceptionally well and flew a great distance. The average was 18 meters this showed to do well on the graph and table that has been posted. 

Now the -80° plane this plane went straight down or it went on a sharp turn to the left every time this plane's flaps went straight down if  -80° was unclear to you surprisingly it didn't come last with the average of 4m the average was measured over five throws of the plane and then the results were put into a claculator.  

For the 90°plane that means the flaps went straight up facing to your ceiling or the sky above your head this plane did the worst with an average of 3 meters it went down to the ground every time damaging the tip so some of the results may be mixed.

Last of all here were some of the things that could have or did mess with some of the results of my experement there was a head wind im not sure if it was too bad to mix with my results the air it was 12.8° and the air was cold outside under the verandah where the paper planes were tested.

Netball game

We have been working shot percentage in netball games from ages ago but we have been adding up with dice and online computers the probability of new Zealand winning because back in the time we were recording new Zealand missed every two in 7 shots but aus only missed every one in 7 witch is better out of 46 shots new Zealand made 27 and aus made 35

We have been doing space tasks one of the tasks was scan QR codes and get the answers it it really fun another task was to make rocket ships we would go onto a website and make our own rockets with unlimited money and if anyone wants to check out the QR code slide here is a link check it out it would mean a lot it took a fair bit of time My Slide

Southern Lights

These lights are called aurora these are normally green but sometimes can be red blue orange and if your lucky you can see pink they come from the sun and take 40 years to reach us the best place to see them is in Antarctica The Solar wind comes into contact with the gases in the Earth's atmosphere and the Earth's magnetic field. This causes the gases in our atmosphere to light up Nitrogen in the air 60 miles above the planet's surface reacts with the plasma in the solar wind and turns the sky blue

We have been working on our Matariki work I have been making a poem with my friends its some facts and what the stars represent

We have been learning number patterns and how they work they are really interesting and today I learned how many possible outcomes there are i have been working with my friend Jordan and we finished our task here were our questions

Lately, this has been another update on our websites we have been writing symbols so if in the book something happens what does it symbolize I have done 5 symbols so far and they are looking really good here is a little sneak peek

On Monday we were doing our algebra we had a series of maths algebra questions  that we had to use BEDMAS on that wasn't the confusing part was we had to use it backwards so usually its Brackets Exponents Division Multiplication Addition and Subtraction so if you had a question you would have to use BEDMAS but backwards

In maths, we have been practicing algebra on Tuesday we ran through a question a dad and his daughter both had to take cough medicine and we had to figure out how long it would take for one of them to finish their bottle first it took Mr Morrison 7 and a half days to finish and it took his daughter rose 9 days

Hi Bloggers over the first week back we have done a lot of work

For literacy we have been reading a book called hitchhikers guide to the galaxy its a good book a lot of the tasks for the book have been chapter recaps and learning how the travel in space but my favourite bit in the book just happen they were about to been blown up by homing missiles but then they teleport ed a sperm whale in front of the ship to save their life's the book was made by Douglas Adams.

Now for the maths we have been doing we have started using a website instead of using a calculator the site is called kaggel you have to put in division as axtrixs and more but we have been doing the website to figure out maths problems that we get it makes it easier then opening up a calculator and typing everything in.

Now for last of all we have been making a time capsule that has a personal sheet of stuff we enjoy and a speech kinda like a speech about our self's and we are going to bury it and dig it up in like 40 years and see what we had put in it hopefully our children will be able to open and see what we liked when we were kids.

Perfect Pizza

Hi Bloggers,I am posting a TECH task that I did I chose to make a pizza using the food in my house I started by making a delicious pizza base then i spreading some rose red tomato paste then for the toppings I love pepperoni some of course i put some on then i spread some really good mozzarella cheese then i put some ham on top then put in the oven at 180 for 30 minutes it came out looking amazing perfect golden and the crusts looked so good I waited for it to cool down for a while then me and my mum cut it into eight pieces with the pizza cutter and dug in it tasted so good sadly I couldn't get any photos but here one of a pizza that kinda looks like my one.

Larry the robot

On the outside larry might look like a piece of cardboard metal and a circuit board but he is actually more complex than he looks



He was created by a scientist not looking to make a robot that looks advanced but that looks dumb but the circuit board is one of the most powerful in the galaxy



The scientist was lonely and wanted a friend so he thought why not build one just as smart as him and they can work side by side 



Larry has been built to be the perfect companion no hate just love he cannot harm anyone unless he is being harmed he is loved truly and was build for good

This week has been a lot of different activities for maths and literacy but today I'm going to talk about the literacy side of this  week

well on Monday we had to describe what was the best man-made invention I made my point on power because it basically runs the modern world with power lines that power some peoples toothbrushes to lights in their house.

Types of irony

ki ora bloggers yesterday I and my peers in Mr. Gilstroms literacy group had to identify types of irony in the small video clips there are 3 types of irony dramatic irony situational irony and vocal irony

all of these are from different situations that vary in what happens a type of irony for each video there were 8 videos and each one showed some type of irony we had to tell the the line and what type it was

There were a olaf Alladin and more videos from movies and scenes that showed the irony this task was actually pretty fun because of the videos but thanks for reading

My literacy

She was ready for this she had a drive for her whole life her motivation of everyone saying she couldn't travel time but she was finally ready it was as if this machine was her life the one thing she couldn't live without her mother was always very supportive of her and made sure she has everything she needed one her last quotes before she never came back again during the time travel was.

Nothing is ever hard you just have to make it easy.

Literacy Story

Making his way over to his owners after what felt like the weirdest dream he had ever had he went over to bark for food like normal but when he barked his voice came out speaking proper english his stood still surprised in shock and so did his owners 

Confused they got the food out and fed him he responded with a thank you and that's when they thought they were dreaming they got him straight in the car and to the vet to see if doctor linda knew anything about what was happening

Turns out this has happened before with another dog she ran through all the symptons its easy as pie to reverse all we have to do is retrace the steps of what he did in his dream last night and all will be okay 

As we patiently waited for nightfall and the dog to go to sleep evryone started to get tierd and so did the dog and that was a good thing the dog fell asleep and we used a device to enter his mind

We found a cure for the potion that he had drank the night before and we all went back to sleep happy that didn't end horribly

Literacy Task

The dog questioned everyone about how much they knew about him but everyone was silent in fear of what might happen if they spoke up…

The dog’s voice sounded commanding as if he needed something but no one knew anything about him who owned him who trained him nothing!

All they knew is that somehow he got into this high security party and he was questioning everyone about what they knew

Everyone stared to guess what was here for and the look on the dogs face kinda made it look like he didn't know what he was doing there either 

Then he just disappeared no noise just silence what's happening why was he here what the everyone stands still confused at what just happened but instead of being paranoid the party must go on late into the night

This was our literacy task to make a story of a animal that can talk or is in a weird situation thanks for reading

This morning a played a Kahoot with my sister and my brother we played every round on what was most voted so it would be a bit obvious to my teachers and friends why I won the rugby round and my sister won the roundabout horses we played a few more than that but those were mostly it.

Plan And Prepare Food

Today I went for a walk it might not be far but it was to the end of Prestons back to my house where i did 20 star jumps and that was it

today I made a game to play with my sister so you have to shoot a tennis ball into a mini hoop then pass a rugby ball through the zip of the trampoline then grab an inflatable volleyball and get it into the washing basket if you fail any of them you get a point first to ten points loses

Ki ora Bloggers I hope you've had a good school holiday, I've been doing an amazing self-portrait it consists of all my hobbies and things that make me happy and what I like inspired by an influential artist who makes cool quirky designs of self-portraits.

Time Waste

Time, we waste time a lot, for example, staying in bed all day some people love it but its a waste of because you can do so much more with the time that you spent in bed as just, for example, let me explain a bit.

I, in my opinion, think there is so much more you can do with time for an example instead of staying at home and sitting on the couch and eating instead you could be making a goal finishing the goal and so much more you can set goals to get out the house and enjoy the fresh air on the tracks or the smell of fresh-baked cupcakes.

In conclusion, I'm trying to say find what you want to do and do it instead of sitting down and watching youtube, you can do what you want to when you finish following your heart don't waste time and savor it when you're doing something you enjoy, smile
